Cactus 05:11
The night’s white stars fall downward The trees sing to me in a familiar hum These words have meaning, they told me when I was young But nothing is important as this one “Wake up,” he said in my dreams The man I thought was me The motors’ turning rotations in the distance The men in the white house fight for this But I saw God’s light through an old cactus Learning of the wisdom we all possess “Wake up,” he said in my dreams The man I thought was me

Soul Skin 05:10
Time was calling you again Time to leave your best friend Time for living the way you were meant So you don’t have to come home again I tried to keep you away from yourself I pushed and pulled until you fell I tried to hold you away from harm But I hurt you with my outstretched arms Traffic lights turn as the spring rain falls Alone again after so long Lovin is easy when you’re free Lovin was hard when you were with me You were my best friend, you were my soul in a skin You were my best friend, you were my soul in a skin Drifting away, but I tried Left me with my brain, so I fried You looked me in the face, and you lied When I was betrayed, part of me died I let go of your hand while they struck the gear We pretended love was built on fear I threw your cigarettes into the pit The way you looked at me said never quit Traffic lights turn as the spring rain falls I’m home again after so long Lovin is easy when I’m free Lovin was hard when you were with me You were my best friend, you were my soul in a skin You were my best friend, you were my soul in a skin

In The Sun 06:38
Whilst the burn, calm the tide Prodigious arms, furtive stride Raise the glass made from stone Throw the salt in the sun I see with holes in my head And my parents’ gods are dead The eastern board, watch the tide Ancient lore won’t help us survive Implosion, stars tell time Watch the sun go blind Bring the sea to me We will release our bodies Terror seems like an illusion When we know where we’re going To love is to give a separate sign The singular purpose we have in our lives Look at me in the eyes The stone will stand longer than I I’ll return to my bed When my time is done Throw the salt, let’s live in the sun Implosion, stars tell time Watch the sun go blind Bring the sea to me We will release our bodies

To Kneel 04:50
Baseball field and morning doves Remember when I couldn’t have enough Childhood isn’t the same Hunting the threshold without any shame Remember when I didn’t know you In the way you wanted me to I look up at night in the past Ingesting the stardust, it’s all come to pass Could I be anybody without you The watchers are broken and lust is untrue I’m forming a service out of my control Without your wisdom, nothing is whole Now summer is gone, it’s time to move on But I always feel better with you The games I used to play with death Took some time to realize (that) time does not exist A celestial guide took me through the abyss And I fell into your lap, why, cause that’s what I did Could I be anybody without you The watchers are broken and lust is untrue I’m forming a service out of my control Without your wisdom, nothing is whole Now summer is gone, it’s time to move on But I always feel better dying in your arms

Stop attacking my psyche, invaded by your blue light, cruisin down the highway at night Stop attacking my psyche, I just want to talk with my bros, not about your TV shows Stop attacking my psyche-delics, they are good for us, the drugs you give us are worse Stop attacking my psyche, I wanna be human, not just a white male American Don’t get me wrong it’s like I appreciate the illusion of my freedom and my rights We can vote for what we want But when we cho(o)se ourselves, our freedom is all gone Stop attacking my psyche, invaded by your blue light, cruisin down the highway at night Stop attacking my psyche, I just want to talk with my bros, not about your TV shows Stop attacking my psyche-delics, they are good for us, the drugs you give us are worse Stop attacking my psyche, I wanna be human, not just a white male American It’s not political at all We blame the other side, thinkin it’s their fault Let’s pull the wool from over our eyes Who created sides, we could realize The distraction never ends And the illusion that we’re apart I’m on the side of the humans Let’s never forget that we are one Stop attacking my psyche, invaded by your blue light, cruisin down the highway at night Stop attacking my psyche, I just want to talk with my bros, not about your TV shows Stop attacking my psyche-delics, they are good for us, the drugs you give us are worse Stop attacking my psyche, I wanna be human, not just a white male American

Erebus 04:38
I tried to grasp the moving stones A colored desert turned upside down by war It was turned to dust, and the last of us Were trying to salvage eternity before machines would rust I was a scientist, an innovator, I was someone great Before a fight in a cliffside mansion turned me human with hate What is it I’m looking for, I said with a clenched fist In this holy land of technology what I seek must exist He said Erebus The savior of human kind You’re lookin for the fountain of youth So you can have an endless life We were drivin through the desert, the people with me had guns As we pulled up to a station, I was handed one We came under fire, I took cover behind a compact car I shot around the bend, but my bullets bounced off of them The attackers they spotted me, their faces changed at once They said you’re the one who led us here, why don’t you come with us She was in the abandoned station, a new glow was in her eyes Her family was thanking me for their new immortal lives I said what is it you’re speaking of, and what is it I’ve done And if you’ve found an endless life, why would you take another one Erebus The key to immortality We’re drinking from the fountain of youth And we don’t know when the end will be I said Erebus The purgatory of Hades You’re flipping coins in the fountain of youth And we don’t know what the end could mean Sent to Erebus, north across the land I found a hundred soldiers, dead and dying in the sand I looked at one of them, they were my old friends They said the weapons of immortals, brought them to their end Erebus Supposed savior of humankind We’ve decided chaos But chaos is our hereditary right

All Too Grey 04:34
Now I sit, reading of my past, the candle burns my thoughts to ash Who cares when, I say what I know, an open heart can always close I was a slave, then I was free, now I’m a slave to what freed me Funny how, these things will change, this open book reads many ways Once I thought, it was too much Once I tried, to feel its touch We all strive, to be much too sane The world out here, is all too grey It tripped me out, looking in, I braced myself for what never hit Saying truth, that can escape, is offering an empty plate What is love, and what is hate, I’m sitting at an open gate I’m staring at, the truth again, its that I love every human Once I thought, it was too much Once I tried, to feel its touch We all strive, to be much too sane The world out here, is all too grey

All of Us 05:00
The people in our lives are all of us Friends, family, and strangers Playing out characters in all the pages It’s all of us All of us I kept up on the news at one point The paper trail led nowhere So we rolled up a joint Foreign fighters and dignitaries Communists, oligarchs, humanitarians It’s all of us All of us My pen touches the paper But my fingers roll one up I don’t need to write when my mind’s focused on love My body’s decomposing and my lineage is gone I’ll look to my neighbors across the world To carry it on It’s all of us All of us The villain was written in the pages we rolled Into the story where the underworld and the heavens are told But the villain and the hero are the same They’re laughin and tumblin in the grass For ten thousand years and they will again, cause it’s All of Us

about

In the years of 2016-2018, there was a general period of darkness in humanity. This album is The Sky Colony's collection of personal musical introspection during that time.
